The Princess tree is from China but spread widely in North America. In Europe it is more common to find in the park. In China it was customary to plant this tree, when the Empress gave birth to a child.

The leaves of Foxglove tree are heart-shaped, very large (up to 30 cm (11.8 in) long) and green. The underside of the leaf is gray-tomentose to woolly pilose. The leaf margin is smooth.
The flowers hang on standing panicles. The flower color is pink-violet to light blue. The flower is yellow striped inside.
The capsule fruit is especially striking in the autumn because long adherent.
The branches are thick, brown with leaf scars. The buds are barely visible.
